In spite of the current economic climate, and notably the euro/dollar exchange rate which is unfavourable to large-scale exports, the quality of our equipments and service means we can challenge BMIs competitors, particularly those in the dollar zone. Our company thus maintains its European and global market position, even increasing in volume while penetrating new sectors of activity characterised by new and special vacuum applications.
At the level of Metall Technologie Holding, the group to which we belong, the year 2007 was marked by a global turnover increase of approximately 15%, with consolidated sales of 75 million euros. This strong growth led the German business entities in Dortmund (IVA) and Menden (Schmetz) to revise their production capacity upward (expansion of their premises during the 3rd quarter of 2007). These measures were taken to benefit customers and let us be more responsive to the growing demand for high quality heat treatment equipment in our respective markets.
