Aeronautics: BMI Vacuum Furnaces protect their advance

Aeronautics accounts for a significant proportion of the heat treatment installations that we supply today. Our customers in this sector are either subcontractors or parts manufacturers, all of whom are subject to extremely demanding reference framework standards, including those concerning the specifications for AMS-type aeronautics equipment, published by the international SAE Aerospace Group.

Applying these standards is relatively restricting and exacting for our customers in their industrial operations, but it offers the assurance of an ongoing control over the performance of production tools and the formal manifestation of total traceability. The revised AMS2750-C, which officially appeared under index D in September 2005, raises the bar once again by compressing gauging and calibration tolerances and uncertainties for temperature sensors and pyrometric instrumentation.

In order to be in line with this demand, and indeed a forerunner in meeting it, we have selected, from what is available on the market, the equipment capable of meeting the particular requirements of AMS2750-D. In this way, we have introduced the adapted technological solutions. For example, communication between the instrumentation, the PLC and our GRAPHTIL supervision uses the modBUS digital protocol, thereby eliminating the cumulative errors involved in acquiring and generating analogical signals.

As a result of the requirements linked to their industries, our customers are therefore active partners and a driving force behind the development of our range of furnaces and processes; and we are grateful to them. With these changing standards and the work done in partnership with our customers, we are in a position to put forward solutions that are innovative and particularly well adapted to the market.

Finally, please note that our After Sales teams can update your existing BMI installations to the AMS 2750-D standard. Your contact: Thierry MARION, tmarion@bmi-fours.com.
