After-sales Service – one furnace, many men

At the end of the BMI guaranteed period also known as “Orange Guarantee”, the After-sales Service team becomes the designated point of contact for the client, the end user of the furnace. The After-sales team places its expertise at the client’s service to maintain the equipment at its highest performance level. Responsive and efficient, this team is able to solve 90% of problems by telephone.

Jean-Luc Combis and Pierre Sinardet provide telephone support and diagnose furnace malfunctions and their causes. Bruno Diaf is responsible for spare parts and their dispatch in the shortest time possible (most common parts are available within 24 hours).

The work of this team, led by Jean-Luc Combis and supported by 5 travelling technicians, is completed further down the line by the work of Thierry Marion, After-sales Service Representative, who ensures long-term after-sales support of the furnaces. His role is to prevent problems arriving. He is also the designated point of contact for major renovation works.

Here are some examples of services offered by the BMI After-Sales Service team, aimed at limiting production stoppage as much as possible:

- Preventive maintenance:
o Annual or biannual checking procedure for optimum furnace monitoring,
o Replacement of all furnace joints,
o Calibration or replacement of mass flow meters,
o Supply and installation of thermocouples with calibration certificate.

-Curative maintenance :
o Expert knowledge of BMI or other vacuum furnaces,
o Restarting of furnaces after a long stoppage period or move,

- Replacement of the heating chamber with an identical chamber or an alternative solution (with the possibility of product replacement on most common models).

- Total or partial rehabilitation of BMI or other brand vacuum furnaces :
o Reconditioning or replacement of the furnace vessel,
o Resizing of pumping groups, addition of diffusion pump,
o Replacement of the control system (obsolete relay module, programmer or PLC) by our GRAPHTIL® Man-Machine Interface,
o Adaptation and adjustment to ensure conformity to the various current standards (AMS 2750-D, DESP etc.),
o Help with carrying out the various compulsory checks needed to meet these standards.
