BMI equips Safran Blades’ new plant in Belgium

At BMI, we are proud to support major players in the aerospace industry in their most ambitious industrial projects. For example, we recently delivered and commissioned a B55T vacuum furnace at the brand-new 4.0 factory of Safran Blades in Belgium, a subsidiary of Safran Aero Boosters.

A furnace at the heart of aero-engine production

This state-of-the-art equipment is designed for the heat treatment of turbine blades, an essential component of modern aircraft engines. Thanks to this furnace, Safran Blades will be able to carry out precision vacuum heat treatments such as :

  • Annealing
  • Stress relieving
  • As well as other specific heat treatments.

These processes play a central role in the quality and reliability of the parts produced, contributing directly to the technological excellence for which Safran is renowned in the aerospace industry.

A forward-looking factory

The installation of this furnace is part of the development of Safran Blades’ new 4.0 factory, a site that implements the most advanced standards in digitalization, automation and industrial performance.

The B55T furnace is not just a high-precision piece of equipment: it is also equipped with energy-optimization features. Thanks to a design focused on sustainability and efficiency, it helps to reduce energy consumption while maintaining impeccable processing quality. This dimension is perfectly in line with the Safran Group’s objectives in terms of energy transition and carbon footprint reduction.

A partnership built on trust

This project once again illustrates the strength of the partnership between BMI and the Safran Group, with which we have been working for many years. Our commitment is constant: to supply equipment that meets the most stringent aerospace industry standards, while guaranteeing reliability and performance.

We are also pleased to announce that this collaboration is continuing: a second identical furnace is already being manufactured and will be delivered to Safran Blades in 2026.
