ALLNIT® Furnace

Regulating the Nitriding Potential (KN)

While using our ALLNIT® process, you may be required to control and regulate the nitriding potential in your furnace atmosphere (according to AMS2759/10A). The BMI KN probe shows great results with accuracy of +/-0,2 points regulation gap. Download the KN probe brochure to learn more.

ALLNIT® treatment is available as an option on all tempering furnaces of the B5_R range.

Low Pressure Nitriding ALLNIT®

The ALLNIT® process, patented by BMI, is a special low-pressure gas nitriding treatment.

The gases includes:

  • Ammonia (NH3): Provides nitrogen for nitriding.
  • Nitrogen (N2): Dilutes the nitriding power.
  • Nitrogen protoxide (N2O): Accelerates ammonia dissociation/absorption.
  • Carburising gas (optional): For nitrocarburising applications.

The treatment operates at low pressure, maintained by vacuum pumps and controlled by mass flow meters.

It suits general engineering parts like transmission systems, cutting machines, press or extrusion tools, and plastic injection equipment.

The process ensures deep nitriding penetration and excellent chemical homogeneity.

The ALLNIT® treatment can be followed by a post-oxidation treatment, aimed at obtaining a black surface layer. The industrial objective is twofold: to provide a surface that is resistant to mechanical and chemical stresses at the same time, and to thus improve the friction and corrosion-resistance features.
