ALLCARB® Furnace

Advantages of BMI LPC Furnaces Using ALLCARB®

  • Ideal for large and dense loads such as gear wheels, crankshafts, or components with blind bores

  • Precise control of surface carbon levels and reduced tolerance in case depth

  • Uses clean process gases, avoiding issues related to traditional hydrocarbon gases (propane/methane)

  • Enables efficient carburising of internal bores, including long cylinders.

LPC Furnace Compatibility

The ALLCARB® low pressure carburising process is compatible with the following BMI furnace series:

  • BMICRO – Compact furnace for lab-scale or R&D

  • B8_T & VSE8_T – Horizontal and vertical vacuum gas quenching furnaces

  • B5_TH & B6_TH – Horizontal vacuum oil quenching furnaces

  • V6_TH – Vertical vacuum oil quenching furnace

  • B5_T – High-temperature vacuum brazing furnace

LPC Furnace for Low Pressure Carburizing - ALLCARB®

ALLCARB® is BMI’s patented low pressure carburizing (LPC) process, designed to enhance the surface hardness of steels through precise and controlled carbon diffusion. This advanced thermochemical treatment is performed in a carburizing furnace operating under vacuum and elevated temperatures, delivering superior metallurgical results compared to traditional atmospheric carburizing.

What is Low Pressure Carburising?

Low pressure carburising (LPC) is a modern, clean, and efficient alternative to conventional carburizing methods. It eliminates intergranular oxidation and improves carbon penetration depth and surface uniformity, making it the process of choice for high-value components requiring optimal fatigue and wear resistance.

Key Features of the ALLCARB® Process

  • Patented LPC technology developed by BMI, compatible with high-temperature vacuum furnaces (vacuum brazing, gas quenching, and oil quenching)

  • Precise, homogeneous carburizing results with excellent reproducibility

  • Intelligent software assistant calculates optimal cycle parameters based on target case depth and steel grade, with full user control

  • Multi-boost carburizing sequences for deep or complex geometry parts.
